       While The Holistic Veterinary Medical Center of Alabama (HVMCA) and Kowaliga Whole Health Pet Care & Resort are new endeavors, Dr. Mary Battistella has been a practice owner and practitioner for 25 years. This practice was started with the need for preventive medicine for our pets from an early age, that not only includes regular veterinary care (heartworm prevention, flea prevention, vaccinations, deworming, grooming, surgery) but also preventive care nutritionally and in response to health problems that may appear at a young age and those that come with the aging process. There are many ways in which some of the complementary therapies may be utilized to lessen the severity of problems such as allergies, arthritis or joint problems, seizures, and complications of cancer or cancer therapies.
